It seems that typography based invitations are currently quite popular in the wedding world. Nearly half of my current custom design clients are asking for invitations with very minimal embellishments and we are focusing on either traditional text only designs or modern “type as a graphic” looks.  I LOVE this! One of my favorite things is to let the fonts on an invitation lead the design and I’m really enjoying working through the process with so many different couples. Of course I’ll be sure to share the end results as a few of the designs are ultimately going to be part of my Signature Collection.

I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite fonts – both traditional & modern – some old & some new!

Many of these can be seen in use on the typography based designs currently in the Fuzzynk Signature Collection invitations. Here are a couple of my favorite examples!

I realize the blog has been on a bit of a hiatus… you know nearly 12 months of it! But, I assure you the studio has not been all rest & relaxation. In an effort to take back the blog I’m going to share some of the happenings around here on a more regular basis.  I’ll also be popping in with some of my favorite pins (I’m obsessed with pinterest) as well as a look into some of my favorite wedding inspirations from around the web.  First up… here is an update of life in the studio!

If you follow along with me on instagram (my social media of choice) you may have seen some of these current project snapshots. It seems that having my iphone attached to me at all times is the best (and often only) way to share the most recent work in the studio. Professional or at the least semi-pro pictures are on the horizon! Until then… enjoy these quickies!

2012 was capped off with two great custom designs – both destination weddings in Mexico!  I love working on destination weddings because of the fun travel themed items that are often involved. I had the pleasure of creating personalized guest “boarding pass” save the date cards, complete with tear off luggage tags as well as welcome bag “wedding passports” to greet guests at their hotel rooms. These two couples were a ton of fun and I’m still lucky enough to be working with one of them on their invitations this month as well.

One of my (many) goals this year is to create new binders for both my custom designs and signature collection invitations. I started 2013 full speed ahead with the completion of my first binder… and I love it!  I’ve had the pleasure of using it during a handful of custom wedding invitation consultations this month and it’s been a great tool to share my current work which has yet to make it onto the blog or website! Which, will hopefully happen soon so I can share them with my non-local couples as well.  Up next… new Signature Collection designs complete with their own wedding binder!

And finally… you can now find Fuzzynk in the great company of other recommended vendors on two new lovely blogs…

A Practical Wedding and Grey Likes Weddings  Both are daily reads & I am very happy to be a part of them!

I’m teaming up with the always fabulous Style Me Pretty blog on an “Inspiration to Invitation” challenge.  I’ll be selecting one inspiration board put together by a Style Me Pretty reader and designing a complete invitation suite based on it.  The new invitation design will become a part of the Fuzzynk Signature Wedding Collection for 2012!

Be sure to jump over to the SMP blog and build your inspiration board before Friday!  Full details here.

It’s been a very long time coming… but I finally dug up enough time in my schedule to complete a total redesign of the fuzzynk website!  I am beyond excited to share this with everyone.  On the new site you will find the complete Signature Wedding Collection, samples of some of my favorite Custom Wedding Invitation projects, and answers to the most frequently asked questions!  I hope everyone will take a moment to hop over to the new site and look around.  Feel free to share your thoughts back here on the blog or you can always contact me via email.

To celebrate the website release I’d like to share a little of the joy with you.  Any invitation orders placed today through the end of October will receive a 15% discount.  Just mention this blog post when you place your order!

I’m happy to say that the website design is complete and the coding is almost done!  So, I will finally have a big announcement here on the blog sometime in the coming month to show off the new look… complete with a discount code for new clients!  I can’t wait to share the long overdue updated website.  Next up is redesigning this here fuzzynk blog.  Since the website is getting a clean new look I’ve also been busy updating my other online portfolios with the latest images of my Signature Collection Wedding Invitations.

One of my favorite wedding spots is the amazing Style Me Pretty blog.  I’ve been a member of Abby’s Little Black Book of wedding vendors since 2009 and have watched the site grow in so many beautiful ways.  If you haven’t ever checked out the SMP blog be sure to pop over and enjoy the eye candy, amazing vendor recommendations, style board builder and more!

While you’re there take a peek at the fuzzynk portfolio and check out the latest pictures of our Signature Collection Wedding invitations & let me know what you think!

A few months back I was asked by the amazing Brenda Swann of Swann Soirees if I would like to contribute the paper goods for a wedding photo shoot she was putting together.  Of course, knowing that she always plans amazing weddings I was happy to join in the fun.  The “Grace” invitation I designed for the shoot is also now included in my Signature Collection if you are interested in ordering the design for your own stylish event!

The wedding theme was originally “Seeing Stripes” and during development it blossomed into a modern art-deco themed blue, gold, and pink wedding design.  Beautiful!

Here are a few pictures from the day.  Be sure to hop over to Brenda’s blog to read all of the details from the day.  Big thanks to all of the wedding vendors who contributed their time & goods!

It’s long overdue, but my Signature Collection wedding invitations are finally redesigned and ready for order.  I was holding off on their big debut to coordinate it with the release of the new website, but there have been a few delays (my indecisiveness mainly) and I just can’t wait anymore.  Take a minute to browse through the collection and let me know what you think.  There is a mix of completely new designs, a few classics from the original collection, and a few updated oldies but goodies.  Enjoy!

Late last year I was contacted by one of my favorite ladies, Melissa from I do… Weddings! to help her out with a table-scape for Exquisite Weddings magazine.   As soon as I heard the theme of Southern Vintage I jumped at the chance to participate.   Melissa’s ideas for the table easily translated into the invitation, menu, table names, and favor cards that I put together for her.  I’ll do a post in the future of all the items that were created but for now here is a link to the magazine’s Bride Suite blog post!

Thanks to Exquisite Magazine & The Bride Suite as well as Melissa for inviting me to participate.

As I prepare to launch the new fuzzynk website and the 2011 Signature Collection I have been skipping over one large to-do list task… reorganizing my supplies & samples.  This weekend it finally happened and I must admit it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  I am so excited and inspired to finish up my designs now that I have boxes of new colorful sample envelopes, pocket-fold backings, and custom design samples labeled and ready to go.  I can’t wait to share everything I have in the works, but for now here are a few pictures of the items I’ve been sorting as well as sketches of new invitation ideas.
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and is enjoying their Sunday evening.

2010 was a crazy year… as can be seen from nearly 16 months of inactivity on this blog.  But here I am enjoying a perfectly beautiful day on 1-1-11 daydreaming about the excitement of the year ahead.  I love the fresh start that comes with the first day of a new year and I can’t wait to share the plans I have with all of you.   I’m nose deep in a new website design, brand new invitation suites, and fresh revamps of some of my most popular Signature Collection designs.  Thanks for sticking with me and I hope you enjoy the newness to come.  For now, here is a sneak peek of my new logo!

As seen on…
